This famous designer changed the way cities think about public lighting
Briefly

"At a time when a lot of people didn't necessarily have electricity at home, creating good street lighting was particularly important. That was their first interface with technology." TF Chan highlights the significance of Henningsen's work in enhancing public illumination during a transitional phase in Copenhagen's electrification.
"Henningsen's innovation was to diffuse and disperse light in order to make experiencing it more comfortable. He devised a glass cylinder with an enamel shade that masked part of the bulb and directed the light downward at oblique angles." This describes his approach to correcting the harshness of early electric lighting.
