A student from Islington, Jake Lee, is among the six finalists shortlisted for the Design Innovation in Plastics competition in the UK and Ireland. His prototype, SkinTemp, focuses on core temperature safety in cold water.
The chairman of judges, Richard Brown, commended the high quality, professionalism, and thoroughness of the finalists' presentations, emphasizing their thoughtful design and material selection.
All finalists will receive cash prizes, and the winner of the DIP competition will be announced at an award ceremony in July, with a cash prize of 1,000 and opportunities for work placements or training courses.
