I think the greatest compliment I've gotten about our home is that when people walk in, they say that it feels like us... we adore using color and pattern when decorating. We have a 'yours, mine, and ours' art collection that covers almost every inch of our walls.
Two bits of wisdom come to mind: “Don't decorate your home for anyone else ... they don't live there.” And “[d]on't confuse getting something with getting the right thing. Good things come to those who wait.”
