Renewed efforts to preserve the life and work of two Chicago Imagists
Briefly

Roger Brown, best known as a painter of urban solitude and suburban sprawl, was also a passionate art and object collector. His Chicago home was transformed into a museum filled with various artworks, costumes, and curiosities.
The Roger Brown Study Collection, established in 1997, is housed in an 1888 storefront building in Chicago. It contains a diverse range of art, costumes, and works by contemporary artists like Christina Ramberg, Karl Wirsum, and Jim Nutt.
The collection, jointly managed by Kavi Gupta Gallery and SAIC, supports itself partially through the sales of Brown's paintings and prints. SAIC students have used the space as a creative lab, engaging in various historic preservation projects and database building.
