PLEATSMAMA Store / COV Studio
"This project presents the spatial design for PLEATSMAMA's second flagship store, a pleated knit bag brand that pursues sustainability through natural circulation and eco-friendly materials. Located within Gwangjang Market, the oldest traditional marketplace in Korea, the design reinterprets the vibrant everyday scenes of the market through a contemporary spatial language under the concept "Meeting neighbors while strolling through the marketplace.""
"By transforming the space from one that is merely seen into one that is experienced, the design embodies the brand's sustainable spirit in a tangible and enduring form."
PLEATSMAMA's second flagship store applies spatial design strategies to express sustainable values through natural circulation and eco-friendly materials. The store sits within Gwangjang Market, Korea's oldest traditional marketplace, and interprets the market's vibrant everyday scenes with a contemporary spatial language. The concept, "Meeting neighbors while strolling through the marketplace," frames circulation and encounters as central design drivers. The interior shifts from passive viewing to active experience, encouraging interaction and movement. The resulting space manifests the brand's sustainable spirit in tangible, durable form while connecting product, place, and community through thoughtful design.
