"The Cauldron represents all the spirit I wanted to give to the Olympic and Paralympic objects," Lehanneur explains. "Light, magical, and unifying, it will be a beacon in the night and a sun within reach during the day."
Lehanneur's creation is visually stunning—a 22-meter helium-filled balloon paired with a flame ring made from machined and anodized aluminum. This 'ode to lightness' is a seamless fusion of elegance and ingenuity, designed to stand out both as a beacon by night and a brilliant sun by day.
Within hours of the Olympic Opening Ceremony, all 200,000 tickets to see the Cauldron were sold out, and each evening, crowds of over 10,000 gathered to witness its ascent.
Discussions have already begun to make the Cauldron a permanent installation in Paris, with key endorsements from Mayor Anne Hidalgo and French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
