Objekt Architecten has thoughtfully renovated a rural home in Wichelen, blending modern interior elements with the original classic exterior, especially restoring its crow-stepped gable.
The most striking feature is the open, double-height living area created by removing the ceiling, which allows for a new mezzanine that enhances the home's spatial dynamics.
Materials played a crucial role in defining spaces within the open-plan layout, with the kitchen area featuring green Topcer tiles and a large planter separating it from the living room.
The addition of a large, double-height window connects the interior living space with the garden, whilst the design maintains the historical character of the classic facade.
