The Taiwan-born multidisciplinary artist, technologist and Net art pioneer Shu Lea Cheang has won the LG Guggenheim Award, a $100,000 prize for her extensive work with various technologies.
Since 2002, her project Garlic=Rich Air has imagined a future where garlic is the main currency, while she delves into biotechnology risks and opportunities with works like Locker Baby Project and Mycelium Network Society.
