nendo screens japanese home with world's first CO2-absorbing concrete blocks
Briefly

nendo introduces dynamic screening walls to a private residence in Karuizawa using CO2-SUICOM, a world's first carbon-capturing concrete.
CO2-SUICOM is made by replacing a portion of cement with an industrial byproduct and adding a carbon dioxide-absorbing material, reducing CO2 emissions during production.
The design of the walls allows the view to be set in one direction with a single row, while two rows open up the view on the other side only when the angles align.
CO2-SUICOM enables over half the cement to be replaced with a more environmentally friendly substitute, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions from manufacturing.
