The Mortuary House of Barrancos occupies an implantation area between the upper level of the cemetery and the lower level of a centennial olive grove. The building preserves the existing views system and responds to the territory framed by traditional dry-stone walls. The project area measures approximately 250 m and reached completion in 2024. Lead architects include Paulo Dias (coord.), Ana Isabel Santos, and Joao Varela. Photographs are by Nuno Almendra. The design intention prioritizes landscape continuity and contextual integration with rural masonry boundaries and visual corridors.
