Mesonia opened in June 2025 in San Miguel de Allende's San Antonio neighborhood as a design-forward rental suite blending contemporary Mexican craft with immersive living. Daniel Valero of Mestiz Studio designed the space as part private retreat, part living gallery where every surface, fixture, and furnishing communicates craft, culture, and place. Architecture weaves warmth into Valero's bold organic vision, while branding balances heritage and modernity. All furniture, lighting, textiles, ceramics, and architectural details were custom-made in collaboration with master craftspeople from the Bajio and northern Mexico. A vivid palette of sky blue, magenta, caramel, and kelly green animates the interiors. The suite offers a king bedroom, full kitchen, lounge with built-in seating, and a private terrace.
Mesonia, which opened in June 2025, is the latest creation from artist and designer Daniel Valero, founder of Mestiz Studio, and it transforms the idea of boutique lodging into a fully immersive design experience. Far from a conventional hotel room, Mesonia functions as an experimental living space part private retreat, part living gallery where every surface, fixture, and furnishing tells a story of craft, culture, and place.
The branding, by designer Daniel Martinez Larsen, distills Mesonia's essence into a clean, contemporary identity that mirrors the suite's balance between heritage and modernity. Inside, every detail is custom, including furniture, lighting, woven textiles, ceramics, and architectural details, all designed by Mestiz Studio and brought to life through artisanal techniques developed in collaboration with master craftspeople from the Bajio region and northern Mexico. This results in a space that feels deeply rooted in place while remaining fresh and original.
