Mel Ramsden obituary
Briefly

In November 2014, an exhibition called Nobody Spoke opened at the Lisson Gallery in London, featuring an installation of 17 small chairs made of canvases painted in black and white with haphazard images and texts. The chairs were part of a video by a German artists' collective discussing ekphrasis.
Mel Ramsden, one of the last remaining members of Art & Language, passed away at 79. He was not among the founding members but joined the group in the late 1960s in New York, after living in Australia and studying art in England and Melbourne.
