Madrona House / Daniel Toole Architecture + Carsten Stinn Architecture
Briefly

The Madrona House was designed with a strong emphasis on maximizing natural light and connection to gardens, with the use of concrete walls and a courtyard to enhance the visual and spatial experience.
The design of the home incorporates elements such as thick concrete walls, a carved wooden volume, and glazed openings inset to the interior surface, creating a sense of heft and permanence while enhancing the relationship with the surrounding landscape.
Light is strategically integrated into the design through open ends of the home, skylights, and diffused south light, compensating for limited access to direct sunlight due to neighboring structures.
