Living Beauty Retail Shop / Odami
Briefly

Living Beauty translates historic apothecary characteristics—dark wood, elaborate detailing, and many small drawers—into a contemporary luxury retail interior. The design emphasizes intimacy and service, recreating spaces for close consultations on either side of a counter. The project occupies 2,500 ft and completed in 2025. Photographic documentation was provided by John Alunan. Specified manufacturers and materials include Centura, Farrow and Ball, Knolltextiles, Kohler, Marble, and Octopus. The overall intent is to craft an impactful interior identity that evokes curiosity and care while serving a modern luxury beauty retailer.
Throughout history, apothecaries have acted as spaces of both curiosity and care. Traditionally defined by dark wood, elaborate detailing, and a plethora of small drawers containing unseen intrigues, these service-forward spaces offered intimate consultations conducted on either side of a counter. Living Beauty boldly reinvents this bygone but invaluable typology, defining an impactful interior design identity for the luxury beauty retailer.
