Les Echoppes Bastide Housing / eliet&lehmann architectes
Briefly

The project was entrusted to E&L Promotion by the public development agency Etablissement public d'Amenagement Euratlantique. The site sits on Bordeaux's right bank, north of the Garonne-Eiffel development zone (ZAC), adjacent to the historic Bastide neighborhood known as the "stone city." The development is largely composed of terraced townhouses that reinterpret the local tradition of Bordeaux echoppes. All buildings and boundary fences are constructed entirely in 28 cm-thick solid stone. The design emphasizes continuity with Bastide's masonry heritage through material choice and typological reference.
