A monolithic cabin emerges from a former limestone quarry, separated from its original slope after mining ceased. The mass gradually opens, carving a deliberate gap that frames views and creates an accessible interior threshold. The carved opening functions as both passage and shelter, drawing hikers into the transformed terrain. The intervention reactivates industrial remnants as a public, experiential object within the landscape. The project engages material history, topography, and human circulation to create a compact architectural encounter integrated with its quarry setting.
