LDS Residence I is conceived as a generous home for a client family to raise children and to host extended family gatherings. The plan addresses a central challenge: creating a comfortable mediation between public entertaining spaces and private family spheres. Spatial organization separates and connects zones to allow entertaining without compromising daily family life. Material choices and contemporary detailing evoke mid-century modern precedents common in Caulfield while providing modern functionality. Flexible circulation and room adjacencies support both large gatherings and intimate family routines, presenting the house as a contemporary entertainer's home within the neighborhood context.
