Bufen atelier's tea pavilion in Beijing's 798 Art District serves as an intimate space for tea and social interaction. Composed of offset volumes, the design creates visual interest and integrates a prominent side window that allows for seamless movement between the interior and a garden-like outdoor area. Crafted with materials like hand-crafted brick tiles and yellow terrazzo, the pavilion also features a suspended metal grid ceiling. Its yellow platform marks the entry point and connects the structure with the surrounding industrial setting, negotiating with existing infrastructures to enhance urban interaction.
The tea pavilion's design, characterized by offset volumes and a prominent side window, creates a fluid boundary that enhances spatial experience and interaction with the outdoors.
Hand-crafted brick tiles and yellow terrazzo highlight the pavilion's textures, while the suspended metal grid ceiling provides uniform light distribution, enhancing its lantern-like quality.
