Ms. McDonald found a piece of wallpaper hand painted in a floral pattern while renovating her kitchen. It was the only patch with a pattern. She felt like she was connecting with the generations that lived there.
Despite the fragility of the historic wallpaper, it couldn't be saved. Ms. McDonald plans to take a high-resolution photo, frame it, and display it in the same spot where she found it as a way to commemorate it.
