To mark the fourth and final phase of the construction of the $2.5 billion Harvey Milk Terminal 1 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the terminal on June 17, 2024. Mayor London Breed, SFO Director Ivar Satero, and other officials did the honor.
The eight-year project includes a new ticket counter area, mezzanine-level security checkpoint, two new gates, a museum gallery, a connecting walkway that links every SFO terminal post-security, new concessions, additional baggage claim areas, and more.
Through July 2, there will be live Pride-themed entertainment in the new terminal and photo stations in terminals 2 and 3. On June 27, Mercedes Munro, Paju Munro, and CHEER SF will be featured from 10 am-2 pm. On June 28, 'Flagging in the Park' will be showcased.
SFO has even created a summer music set list: https://www.flysfo.com/disco
