The project is an artist studio and residence for textile and ceramic artist Miranda Fengyuan Zhang located at the edge of a forested hill and adjacent flat farmland in Germantown, New York. The building explores themes of duality, texture, and tradition that reflect the artist’s practice. The design negotiates the transition between forest and field while balancing dedicated workspaces and living areas. The design team includes Matei Denes, Angelo Jones, and Lauren Uhis.
