As a young boy, Gary's father taught him gas torch welding, sparking a lifelong passion for art that led him to quit his corporate job and become a full-time artist.
He opened Lawrence Gallery, which became a successful venture, supporting many artists and helping them make a living from their artwork. He was known for his sculptures depicting flowers and birds.
