Foster + Partners has unveiled plans for Laheq Island, a new community in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Project, featuring an 800-meter circular structure, The Ring, which encircles a central lagoon. This design preserves the island's ecosystems while promoting luxurious living with nature, as it includes residences, hotels, recreational facilities, and a marina. The 'Forever Garden' concept aims to foster a serene environment with greenery and wellness features. Water recycling systems enhance sustainability, demonstrating a commitment to environmental ethos while creating a living landscape.
"By concentrating development toward the centre of the island, the masterplan preserves the natural ecosystems around its perimeter, allowing them to continue thriving undisturbed."
"Residents and visitors are invited into a serene garden that engages all the senses and offers panoramic views of the magnificent surroundings," says Norman Foster.
