I was interested in looking at how the Olympics has grown in terms of being more focussed on equality, representing smaller countries, people of all races, and embracing women's sports seriously.
Alison's piece 'Salon' represents different cultures coming together, peace, and passing on the Olympic torch, inviting people to not just admire it but also participate in the space.
I wanted to create a space that was not just about a sculpture to walk by, but a space for people to come and sit down and participate.
