DIY ultra-wide Steam Deck DS hybrid trades joysticks for a keyboard and trackpad - Yanko Design
Briefly

Marcin Plaza’s unique handheld gaming device, a hybrid of a super-wide Steam Deck and Nintendo DS, eliminates joysticks in favor of a PC-centric keyboard and trackpad design.
The design process was heavily influenced by the decision to repurpose a 13-inch wide Lenovo laptop motherboard, which dictated the unconventional ultra-wide form factor.
Creating this device necessitated finding a compatible 12.7-inch ultra-wide screen, alongside custom circuit board design, major soldering, and repairs of damaged data cables, indicating a high level of complexity.
This 'DS Deck' deviates from traditional handheld designs and embraces a clamshell structure while promoting a keyboard and trackpad interface, showcasing innovation in DIY gaming technology.
