"The project reconsiders conventional typologies through a design approach centered on curved geometry and spatial continuity, establishing a continuous relationship between the two buildings."
"A concave glass wall marks the intersection between the new and existing structures, allowing the exterior space of the original house to extend into the new interior."
"Curved geometries are introduced at key junctions, particularly along the front facade and corners near property edges, reducing angular transitions and contributing to a more continuous spatial flow."
Oom house, designed by anonym studio, is an addition to an existing dwelling in Bangkok that emphasizes curved geometry and spatial continuity. The new structure, adjacent to the original house, features a series of curves that connect spaces without rigid separations. The ground floor includes shared functions, while private areas are on the upper floors. A concave glass wall creates a shared terrace, enhancing daylight and reinforcing the concept of space sharing. Unique stair placements encourage movement throughout the house, promoting a fluid experience within the layered living space.
