AYDC Public Art Center / Atelier XI
Briefly

The AYDC in Guiyang features a public art complex designed to merge community, innovation, and nature, reflecting the cultural and spiritual essence of Guizhou. Named 'our land of dreams' in the Yi language, AYDC serves as a hub to foster creative industries and community engagement. Rather than a single structure, the project comprises interconnected pavilions scattered across the landscape, embedding creativity in nature while providing diverse platforms for local artists to collaborate and express freely.
The architect was invited to design a comprehensive public art complex at the AYDC in Guiyang, which integrates community, innovation, and nature in a culture-driven hub.
AYDC, meaning 'our land of dreams' in Yi language, is inspired by the spiritual essence of Guizhou's mountainous landscape, promoting creative industries and community expression.
The originally planned singular building was transformed into a constellation of public art pavilions, providing flexible platforms for local art communities to gather and create.
These distinct yet connected spaces are embedded in nature, allowing people and ideas to grow freely in an environment conducive to artistic spontaneity.
