"The Arthur Residence was designed for a finish carpenter and emergency room doctor from South Africa with a passion for gardening."
"They selected an infill site near downtown Regina, in a mature neighborhood where small bungalows are rapidly being replaced by conventional homes."
"The couple was seeking a modest sanctuary with ample space for privacy and respite from the outside world."
"In contrast, the Arthurs wanted to challenge this development with a thoughtful alternative."
The Arthur Residence serves a finish carpenter and an emergency room doctor from South Africa who share a passion for gardening. The project provides a modest sanctuary offering ample space for privacy and respite from the outside world. The owners selected an infill lot near downtown Regina within a mature neighborhood experiencing rapid replacement of small bungalows by conventional homes. The design purposely responds to that context by proposing a thoughtful alternative to typical redevelopment patterns. The residence balances private retreat and engagement with garden-focused living on a compact urban site.
