The Arena Collection combines Scandinavian and Mediterranean design elements, focusing on outdoor furnishings suitable for patios and resorts. Søren Rose's second collection features a lounger, armchair, sofa, coffee tables, side table, and swing, all designed to evoke relaxation. Crafted with gently curved panels and hand-bent aluminum, the pieces exemplify visual delight and modern comfort. Rose aims to blur the line between indoor and outdoor living, showcasing furniture that encourages a dialogue with nature while avoiding fleeting trends. The collection prioritizes serenity and an inviting aesthetic through thoughtful shape and materials.
"One of the main functions of Arena is to establish a dialogue between the built environment and nature," says Rose. The Arena collection exists outside of trends and a weekly fashion cycle, honed by decades of design history and knowledge of processes that came before.
The gently curved panels are crafted similarly to bent ply, a staple in furniture design since the 1950s when it was first developed. Meanwhile, hand-bent aluminum planes are held in space establishing an elegant regularity for visual delight.
Rounded forms elicit a feeling of relaxation and softness. The offering features a lounger, an armchair, a two-seater sofa, a set of coffee tables, a side table, and a swing - uniquely designed for serenity.
Beautiful slivers of negative space remain, fashioned from slats of metal with air nestled between each one. Large, open, and friendly, these forms take up space unapologetically - and we love to see it.
