Another object has been stolen from the British Museum-but this time by an artist
Briefly

Brazilian artist Ilê Sartuzi stole a 1645 silver coin from the British Museum and replaced it with a replica, filming the incident for his MFA thesis exhibition.
Sartuzi planned the heist for over a year, using misdirection and shaving his beard to avoid detection by museum security.
The artist's actions were considered a conceptual art piece named Sleight of Hand, referencing the legerdemain used to switch the original coin with the replica.
The British Museum's spokesperson mentioned informing the police about Sartuzi's actions but didn't confirm if charges would be pressed.
