WhatsApp for iOS is rolling out passwordless logins with passkeys
Briefly

Passkeys enable signing in with device authentication methods instead of traditional passwords, supported by platforms like Apple, Google, and password managers like 1Password.
Passkeys are based on WebAuthn technology, generating two keys - one stored by the website and a private key on the user's device.
In case of device loss, passkeys can be recovered through other authentication methods like phone numbers, email, or hardware security keys, as they work across multiple devices.
