Our conclusion that the magnetic field effects reported by Gegear et al. were most likely false positives was based on the incorrect choice of statistical tests by these authors.
The Student's t-test used by Gegear et al. to analyze group T-maze data is strongly affected by pseudo-replication and is fundamentally wrong for analyzing preference indices.
