Where to find discounted (or free!) pizza and pie on Pi Day around D.C.
Briefly

Celebrating Pi Day on March 14, pizza places capitalize on the occasion by offering special deals. Various locations, including Slice and Pie and Wiseguy locations, offer $3.14 slices. Pizzeria Paradiso rewards those who can recite pi with pizza discounts. The deals, primarily focused on takeout and online orders, highlight an innovative marketing strategy that combines mathematics with culinary enjoyment, enticing customers to indulge in pizza while commemorating the mathematical constant pi.
This Navy Yard Detroit pizza purveyor started as a pandemic pop-up at Scarlet Oak, and Side Door remains focused on takeout and delivery. The "handheld pizzas," which measure 8 inches long by 2.5 inches wide, are cooked in a deep pan and come in flavors like chicken parm, mumbo chicken and classic brick cheese. They're $3.14 each between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and advance orders start Thursday at 3.
The original Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle helped introduce Neapolitan pies to D.C. Now with four locations, it's still going strong. On Friday, take $3.14 off all 12-inch pizzas - done automatically when you order online, or by request in the dining room - and if you can recite the first 31 digits of pi from memory, you'll get a free nine-inch pie.
