Mortal Kombat 1 Devs Respond To Calls For More DLC
Briefly

NetherRealm Studios has announced the release of Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition, which contains the base game, Khaos Reigns DLC, and fighter packs. Despite significant player demand for additional DLC, NetherRealm confirmed no new characters or story chapters will be added. Instead, they will focus on balance tweaks as they transition to their next major project, likely Mortal Kombat 2 or possibly Injustice 3. Recent content updates, like a hidden character named Floyd, mark the end of support for MK1 as excitement builds for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 film.
We are hearing players' requests for continued game support of Mortal Kombat 1. And, while we will continue to support Mortal Kombat 1 through balance adjustments and fixes, there will not be additional DLC characters or story chapters released from this point on.
We understand that fans may be disappointed by the news, but we need to shift focus to the next project in order to make it as great as we possibly can.
Earlier this year, NetherRealm added a pink ninja named Floyd as a hidden battle in Mortal Kombat 1, which may be the final piece of bonus content in the game.
Warner Bros. has also recently released new images from the Mortal Kombat 2 movie, which will hit theaters on October 24.
