"First on the docket is a Heated Rivalry event at the Anthem on Friday, March 6. The competition is organized by event group Club 90's, who have been throwing Heated Rivalry raves around the country. (A bass drop after Rozanov's iconic line, "I'm coming to the cottage?" Why the hell not.) Unlike the freewheeling, hippie-dippie contests of yore, this event is strictly curated."
"Swap tuna melt-downs for Washington Square Park fracas on Saturday, March 7 during a JFK Jr. clone contest at Barrel House on 14th Street. You can credit anthology series Love Story for the resurgence of fascination with the George founder and wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy."
"A rotund orange politico with a lot to say is also getting the twin treatment this weekend. We're talking about the Lorax, of course. Mustachioed characters can speak for the trees at the University of Maryland's basketball game on Sunday, March 8 during a Lorax-off."
Washington DC is hosting a series of lookalike competitions over one weekend featuring three distinct themes. Club 90's is organizing a Heated Rivalry event at the Anthem on Friday, March 6, where contestants compete to impersonate the fictional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov from the popular series. On Saturday, March 7, a JFK Jr. lookalike contest takes place at Barrel House on 14th Street, inspired by renewed interest in the Kennedy family through the anthology series Love Story. Finally, on Sunday, March 8, the University of Maryland hosts a Lorax lookalike competition during a basketball game against Illinois. Each event features pre-selected candidates competing in curated competitions.
