The aim is to connect movies and shows while allowing for standalone viewing experiences. Gunn emphasized that viewers won't need to watch every prior project to enjoy new ones. The plan includes an Avengers-like event movie and a production schedule featuring two live-action films, two shows, and two animated series yearly, underlining the ambitious vision for the future of the DCU.
We remain steadfast that each of these projects work as a standalone project," said Gunn. "So you can see Superman, you can watch Lanterns, without having to see both of them.
The goal is to create a universe that feels interconnected, but with films that still feel separate and standalone.
