Habibur Rahman, the first person in the UK charged for operating an illegal crypto ATM, has denied allegations of running unregistered machines and laundering cash.
Kent Police seized several crypto ATMs during a raid, leading to the arrest of Rahman for supposedly converting £300,000 of criminal cash into cryptocurrency.
Crypto ATMs allow users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum for cash, which, without regulation, has been deemed illegal in the UK.
Rahman appeared in court and will face further hearings, illustrating the ongoing legal challenges surrounding cryptocurrency regulations in the UK.
