These communications falsely claim that the scammers have breached an organization's network and threaten to disclose stolen sensitive data if a ransom of $250,000 to $500,000 is not paid. The letters include a QR code linking to a Bitcoin wallet. Affected primarily are executives within the healthcare sector. Although under investigation, the FBI has found no connection between the scammers and the actual BianLian gang.
