Bitwise Asset Management has partnered with Lombard to become the first strategic yield partner in the Bitcoin Smart Accounts ecosystem. This collaboration aims to unlock yield and liquidity for approximately $500 billion in Bitcoin held in regulated custody. Scheduled for a Q2 2026 launch, Bitcoin Smart Accounts will enable high-net-worth individuals and institutional asset managers to earn yield or borrow against their Bitcoin while retaining full control. The partnership addresses inefficiencies in institutional Bitcoin markets by allowing Bitcoin positions to be recognized as collateral without transferring the underlying asset.
