Australia's Federal Police have successfully seized $6.4 million in cryptocurrency during a global effort against a secret messaging app linked to criminal activities.
This operation, codenamed Operation Kraken, has revealed the use of an encrypted network called Ghost, which authorities allege is specifically designed for the criminal underworld.
The seizure comes after the arrest of Jay Je Yoon Jung, the alleged mastermind behind Ghost, along with another suspect involved in distributing the app.
Operation Kraken, involving 700 police personnel, led to multiple arrests and significant seizures, including illicit drugs and weapons, indicating a serious crackdown on organized crime.
