Gene Hackman's cause of death has been revealed as a result of several complex health complications including severe cardiovascular issues and advanced Alzheimer's disease. An autopsy report highlighted a history of congestive heart failure and noted the presence of a bi-ventricular pacemaker. Furthermore, the findings showed significant atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, alongside severe neurodegenerative features. Despite his health struggles, tests ruled out Hantavirus and indicated a prolonged fasting state with trace acetone in his system when he died. Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found deceased on February 26.
