Flu and COVID vaccination was way below target in 2023, ECDC says
Briefly

Flu and COVID-19 vaccination was "sub-optimal" in several EU and EEA countries last winter, with stark differences in vaccination rates among older populations.
A median of 14 per cent of people over 60 received a COVID-19 jab, while only Denmark and Ireland exceeded 75 per cent flu vaccination coverage for those over 65.
ECDC director Pamela Rendi-Wagner emphasized the need to increase vaccination uptake as inadequate protection could lead to pressures on health systems this winter.
The agency warns of potential co-circulation of seasonal flu, RSV, and COVID-19, recalling the strain on health systems experienced in recent years.
