Back in 2020 and 2021, as Covid-19 vaccines were administered around the world, women began posting on social media about the side effects they were experiencing. Menstrual changes included longer or shorter cycles than normal; and intensified PMS symptoms such as cramping, exhaustion, and unexpected bleeding.
Over two years and a range of boosters later, studies and articles are still hashing out whether or not Covid-19 vaccines have had a measurable effect on menstrual cycles. But with high reports of women reporting a heavier menstrual flow, among other things, following the past three years, can we finally link irregular periods to the vaccine - or is another element at play?
