Ginger Ale - Honey Mustard Glazed Ham
"This was my first attempt at baking a ham. Almost 40 years old and I never baked one before! Ha!! My fiance is a ham lover and he prompted me to cook him one just recently. I wanted it to be a memorable occasion so I thought why not cook it in some ginger ale :-) Hope you like it."
"8 1/2 pounds ham 1 cup ginger ale 3/4 cup prepared mustard 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup light brown sugar Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Place an 8 1/2 lb ham in a shallow roasting pan with one cup of ginger ale. Cover loosely with foil and cook for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Prepare glaze: 30 minutes before ham is done cooking, make your glaze in a separate bowl."
"Add 3/4 cup of prepared mustard (French's, Dijon... whatever your taste), 1/2 cup of honey, and a 1/2 cup of light brown sugar. Take ham out of the oven and score the top. Put back in the oven for at least 10 minutes and add more glaze if desired. Or, what I did was spoon the ginger ale juices back over the glazed ham. Let cook for another 10 minutes and should be ready to serve."

Remove the ham, score the top, apply the glaze, and return to the oven for at least 10 minutes, spooning pan juices over the glazed ham if desired. Let cook another 10 minutes, then serve with garlic sour cream mashed potatoes and peas simmered in the ginger ale juices.
