Burrell was discovered unresponsive by her husband, Stuart Claxton, on the shower floor, following a 911 call for a possible cardiac arrest. Just a day prior, she had performed at an improv show where she appeared to be in high spirits. Her family described her as a beloved figure whose warmth and spirit touched many lives.

She was found unconscious and unresponsive, pronounced dead at the scene after EMS responded to a 911 call for cardiac arrest.
The day before her death, Burrell performed at an improv show where she was reportedly in great spirits and having a blast.
