""Tonight marks my last service at Auro. My final day will be February 1. Auro will take a small winter break starting tomorrow and will reopen on February 12," he wrote in an Instagram post and via social media on Jan. 3. "I am incredibly grateful for this team, our guests, and everything we've built together over the last four years. Cooking here in Napa Valley, where I grew up, has been one of the greatest honors of my life."
"Within eight months, the restaurant earned Calistoga's first and only Michelin star, retaining the distinction in 2024 and 2025. During Garcia's tenure, Auro also received multiple national and regional accolades recognizing its culinary program and dining experience. Auro received Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, and Garcia was named a 2024 James Beard Foundation finalist for Best Chef: California."
Chef Rogelio Garcia will leave Auro at the Four Seasons in Calistoga, with his last service on Jan. 3 and a final day set for February 1; Auro will close for a brief winter break and reopen February 12. Garcia joined the resort in June 2022, opened Auro and an estate winery, and earned Calistoga's first Michelin star within eight months, retaining it in 2024 and 2025. Auro earned regional and national recognition, including Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence. Garcia was a 2024 James Beard finalist and published Convivir in September 2024, which won a 2025 James Beard Media Award.
