Lardera Coffee Roasters Opening Huge Production Hub in New Jersey
"Expanding from tea into coffee felt like a natural evolution for us, allowing the same focus on quality, sourcing and craftsmanship to extend into a new category. We work directly with the coffee plantations we source from, without intermediaries, allowing for greater transparency, quality control and long-term relationships."
"To date, Lardera has relied on outside production roasting while developing profiles and scaling volume, but the company expects to complete the transition into its own facility in the coming weeks. Future plans include the introduction of premium concentrates and other formats."
Lardera Coffee Roasters, established in 2022 as a division of Adagio Teas, is transitioning to in-house roasting with a new 80,000-square-foot facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The facility features a 60-kilogram IMF roaster, 20-ton green coffee storage capacity, and an Effytec automated packaging machine for retail and wholesale bags. Nick Lin, production manager from sister company Adagio Teas, leads roasting operations. The company sources directly from coffee plantations without intermediaries, emphasizing transparency and quality control. Previously relying on outside roasting while developing profiles, Lardera now transitions to full in-house production. The company sells roasted coffee, green coffee, and brewing equipment online, with future plans including premium concentrates and additional product formats.
