Design Details: Collectable Cards with Blueprint Coffee
"Pulling out the card for a closer look becomes a delightfully tactile experience,"
"You can feel the quality of the packaging in your hand, and know that it matches the quality of the coffee inside."
"With this redesign, we challenged ourselves to incorporate more information about the coffees into our packaging, while simultaneously achieving a cleaner,"
Blueprint Coffee in St. Louis implemented a packaging refresh that turns the label into a collectible, tactile field guide. Whole-bean bags now come in 10-ounce, 2-pound and 5-pound sizes and retain the brand's saturated blue and isometric cube logo. A card peeks from a blue pocket on the front and functions as the label: inserted, it displays a color-differentiated coffee name and origin; removed, it reveals producers, elevation, cultivar, processing method and tasting notes. The card includes space for home customers to record grind settings, brew methods and recipes. The redesign launched across company cafés, retailers and online, and introduces 2-pound bags direct-to-consumer.
