"Customers lined up outside locations of the Seattle-based coffee chain as early as 4 a.m. on Nov. 6, in some cases, to get their hands on this viral cup only for many to wind up being turned away. Rob Pepp got up at 3 am on Nov. 6 and pulled up to a Starbucks nearby in Staten Island for a cup."
Starbucks released a Glass Bearista Cold Cup as part of its holiday merchandise, a $30 glass bear-shaped tumbler with a green beanie and striped straw. The cup became viral and sold out in many stores in under 24 hours, prompting customers to line up as early as 4 a.m. Some shoppers, including content creator Rob Pepp, arrived before dawn but were turned away when stores had limited stock. One customer reported an employee purchasing the only cup at a location. The cup has appeared on resale sites for as much as $399, drawing frustration and commentary on availability and pricing.
