A big Starbucks Rewards overhaul is coming. What it means for your stars
""Starbucks Rewards has always been about creating connection, and we're evolving the program based on what our members told us matters most, offering faster, more meaningful benefits that make them feel appreciated. This evolution is a key milestone in our Back to Starbucks strategy and will reinvigorate what it means to be a Starbucks Rewards member.""
""We're redefining the industry with customer-focused benefits that set a new standard and ignite fandom," Tressie Lieberman, Starbucks global chief brand officer, said in a press release."
Starbucks will debut a revamped Rewards program on March 10 with a three-tier structure: Green (starter), Gold (500 stars), and Reserve (2,500 stars in 12 months). Earning rates rise with tier level: Green members earn 1 star per dollar, Gold earn 1.2 stars per dollar, and Reserve earn 1.7 stars per dollar. A new 60-star redemption tier entitles members to $2 off any item, enabling faster reward access. The program targets 35.5 million active North American members and responds to customer feedback. Recent company results showed $0.56 earnings per share and the first traffic increase in two years.
